Blog designers now need to keep up with smartphone technology. Clients now need for us to incorporate QR codes, automated texting, and a host of other technology with their sites. So we need to know and use the latest technology ourselves.

That means we can no longer wait for our cell phone providers to give us new “free” phones every two years when we sign a new contract. As a blog designer you need to move up to iPhone and Android and keep moving up as technology advances.

So what do you do with those older mobile phones? Do you toss them out? Donate them for emergency use? Or sell them to get back some cash to defray the cost of constantly updating?

Here is the best way to sell your older mobile phone: Trade it in on SellMyMobile.com. They compare and show you the current prices for 400+ models of mobile phones, so you know what is the best price you can get for your phone.

I had no idea what the going rates were for mobile phones like mine, and I find eBay more confusing than helpful for that kind of info. Who knows which prices are realistic there?

From now on, SellMyMobile is where I plan to go to sell my phone.

Take a look. I think you will want to do the same.

As blog designers we need to keep up with not only the latest designs, technology, software and SEO, but also with the latest business trends as they affect the sites we design. It is not all about the pretty colors—or even the content.

As users become accustomed to more and more interactivity—with smart phones, tablets, advanced web designs, and more—we need to provide more and more interactivity on websites and blogs. Especially for business, and even if our clients have not thought of it yet.

Business communication used to be a one-way street. Companies made announcements, ran ads, released news. Customers waited to be persuaded. Or sold. Not anymore.

Interactivity is now essential for business websites. It has been especially important for consumer confidence in new technology such as home banking.

Consequently live chat features have become a standard for ecommerce sites to make connections with site visitors. And LivePerson, which has been around since 1995, provides the most comprehensive live chat software for business.

As the first company to make chat an active sales tool, LivePerson is a chat technology innovator. In fact, they lead customer relationship technology with chat software that includes a behavioral targeting engine to give the customer a convincing, effective, and pleasant experience.

LivePerson has live chat solutions for all kinds of sites. They offer good-looking graphics and specialized products for all kinds of businesses and customers. This is top of the line chat that increases sales, because customers like it.

That means that as blog designers, we need to recommend it to our clients and incorporate it in the sites we build.

When you first sign up for a blog on a site like Blogger, there is a wide variety of options made available that allow you to reach out to your readers.

From customizable templates to imbedded videos, audio and advertising, the new blogger seemingly has the world at his or her fingertips.

That warm and fuzzy feeling eventually starts to wear off though as new ideas pop up that may not be immediately covered by Blogger’s built-in features.

Luckily, Blogger and essentially any other blogging platform allows its writers to add any number of open source add-ons to their blogs for enhanced features and interaction with readers.

AdSense
The single greatest thing you can do for your blog is turn it into a profitable outlet for your daily writing. Google’s very own AdSense add-on is one of the easiest and most effective ways to do this. The best part is that it is incredibly easy to add AdSense to your blog through the interface provided by Google in Blogger.

All you need to do is sign up for an AdSense account using the same login ID you currently use for Blogger. Go to the template page of Blogger where you will find a visual layout of your site.

Click on any of the “Add a Page Element” links on the page and you will be asked how big you would like your ads to be, how many to place, and what background colors they will have. It is quick and easy and integrates directly into your account.

Templates
The templates page is a great place to find and make a great deal of changes to your blog, the best and most visible impressive add-on being a new template. The code for your template can be located here, within the Template tag of your blog settings. To change your template, all you need to do is find a new one that you like and copy the code.

While Blogger comes with a couple dozens templates already installed, there are thousands more options available almost anywhere you look on the Internet. So, despite what Blogger may want your site to look like, you can make almost any changes you want, assuming you can find someone who has built a template to match your desired look.

Subscribe to Comments – by email
This simple add-on can be found within Blogger’s own Buzz page, the company blog that announces new changes and updates to their website and services. To find it, look for it just below your list of blogs on your dashboard.

This new add-on makes it easy for you to stay in the conversation loop after you comment on a post. Blogger now gives you the opportunity to receive an email every time someone comments on the same post. This way,

if you ask a question of the post author, you will get instant notification of their response without having to check back on their blog. To use this feature you will need to have a Google account which will insure that someone else can’t provide your email causing your to receive email that you didn’t request.

Amazon Widgets
Another great way to make a few dollars from your writing, Amazon widgets allow you install links to products on Amazon that your readers may be interested in buying.

Sign up for a free Associates account with Amazon and you can then install these widgets with your own Associate ID number and get commission for any sales made through your site. It is a great way to make relevant ads on your site linked to posts you have written.

Bookmarking Buttons (Digg, Delicious, Facebook, etc)
These are almost required in today’s age of social bookmarking and networking. By default, the only way a reader can interact with you on your blog is through the commenting feature. However, you can install simple button links on your site to services like Digg and Delicious where they can bookmark your posts and share them with millions of other social bookmarkers.

To add these buttons to your page, visit the websites for Digg or Delicious and search for buttons and links after signing up for a new account. They install easily within the code of your template (which these sites will guide you through doing).

There are countless additions you can make to your Blogger blog through widgets and third party applications. When someone has an idea, someone else has probably already created an application to serve that idea.

The best way to find new widgets is to search Google for “Blogger Widgets” or “Blogger addons” and search through the listings provided. You can do wonders with your blog with the right resources.

Learn to blog with Google Blogger Tutorials.

So you’ve finally decided to join the blogosphere. As a blogger, one of the things you need to decide on is the blogging platform you want to use. Going with the right blogging platform will make your life as a blogger easy.

Choose the wrong one and pretty soon you’ll feel that blogging is more of a chore instead of something you enjoy doing.

A blogging platform refers to the program you use to manage your blog — from creating it to adding posts, editing posts, deleting posts, approving and deleting comments, and adding other elements to enhance your blog. Thus, the right platform will affect your blogging experience, which is why it is important that you spend time checking out the different types available and looking to see which one is most appropriate for you.

Ideally, you want a platform that is user-friendly and is flexible enough so that you can customize your blog and enable you to really create something that is uniquely yours. Don’t expect to find the right platform quickly; this part of the blogging process takes time and you will need to devote time testing out the different types before eventually find the most suitable one.

When you’re looking for a blogging platform, it’s good if you already know your priorities. For instance, do you put more weight in one that is easy to use or do you want a platorm that is highly customizable?

Moveable Type, a blogging platform, is highly customizable but is not recommended if you are new to blogging or you do not have the technical background in HTML and Javascript. Moveable Type is ideal if you are an experience web designer and you are comfortable working with code.

WordPress, on the other hand, is a platform that is automated and is recommended for new bloggers and those who don’t mind using templates. It is extremely user-friendly and even those with no HTML or web design experience can be blogging in minutes.

If you’re wondering what the best blogging platform is, you’ll get no definitive answer. This is because every blogger has different needs. Thus, one blogger may think MovableType is the best, but another blogger may think different; that the platform he is using is the best.

Keep in mind that blogging is a highly individual endeavor, which means that there is no one software or platform that can satisfy every blogger’s needs. There are plenty available, and this is because of the diversity of bloggers out there. Basically, the best platform is one that suites your needs and technical aptitude.

You’ll find a lot of reviews for the different types available but while these reviews are helpful, take them with a grain of salt. As mentioned before, bloggers have different needs and so there is no one platform that can meet all bloggers’ needs.

When you’re reading these reviews, keep your priorities in mind. Also try to discern where the reviewers are coming from when they wrote their reviews.

Everybody can blog but not every blogger makes money! If you are serious about wanting to make money blogging , then make sure you pick up the essential guide at http://www.blogforprofits.info and find out how you can get set up your blog correctly and start blogging for profits from the very first day.
Article Source

There are so many different blogging platforms to choose from when starting your first blog. Blogging should be a pleasant experience so choosing the right platform can either make your blogging a breeze or a chore. In this article I will share with you 5 tips for selecting the right blogging platform.

Some of the typical concerns people have when choosing a platform are which ones are best, should they use a free service or host their own with their own domain, what are the pros and cons of going with typepad instead of wordpress and should they start with a free platform and upgrade at a later date.

Depending on the goals of your blog will depend on which platform you should use. The great thing about blogging is that your success is not reliant upon the tool you use, it’s about how you use it!

What you should consider are:

1. What are your goals:

If you are brand new to blogging then you might not have thought this through entirely. But some of the things you should be asking yourself is blogging something you see yourself doing long term, what will the main purpose of your blog be, is your blogging more of a hobby or does it have some professional purpose and are you considering putting ads on your blog? These are just a few you can start with but the purpose of deciding what your goals are is because some platforms are much more suited for those who are only interested in blogging as a hobby while others are more interested in pursuing this professionally.

2. What is your budget:

This will depend on whether you choose to go with an entirely free blogging platform or if you want to control your own content. If that is the case, you will need to pay for hosting and a domain name. You can also factor in the expenses of whether you want a free theme or purchase a more editable theme. Other services you may want to consider are having your own theme designed for you and other types of tools.

3. Are you technically challenged or a seasoned pro:

If you have never had any experience of creating a blog or website before, you will want to go with a user friendly platform. If you are willing to put in a little time and effort, there are a few things you can learn that will be very beneficial. If not, you can always hire someone to help you in this area.

4. What are others using:

Although your blog will be your own, it’s always a good idea to do some research to see what other platforms others are using. Ask what they are using, is it hard to maneuver around in or difficult to use, etc. Blogging platforms come and go over the years so try to stick with one that has a long term history and you won’t have to worry about having to change some day.

5. Free versus hosted:

Most beginners usually go the easiest route when starting their first blog and that is by using a free service. The only downfall to this option is you do not have your own unique domain name and you don’t own your content. What this means is that whichever service you use has the right at any time to delete your blog without giving you any notice. Most blogs are free to get started anyway, but when you host your own blog, you own the content which gives you all the control. You also have your own unique domain name and you can accomplish all of this for under $15 a month.

Remember when choosing which platform to go with you will want to know what your goals are, decide on a budget, whether you are technically challenged or not, what other people are using and whether you want to go with a free or hosted service. These are just 5 tips for selecting the right blogging platform. Do your research before beginning and you will be much better off.

Creating a blog is really pretty simple if you just have the right strategies to follow; unfortunately many people never experience the success they desire because they don’t have a guide to show them the way. Head on over to “The Blog Profit Institute” and sign up for your 14 day trial membership. Just go to http://theblogprofitinstitute.com
Article Source

Many Peoples having problem while converting there blogger blog to wordpress. Many of them Thinking of search engine’s traffic comming to there blogger blog and how to redirect them to wordpress blog.Believe me Worpress have so many extra feutures that you dont need to worry and the best thing about wordpress is that if you dont no any coding you will not face any difficulties.

Remember: I’m talking about if your domain is same and you have install your wordpress blog on same domain
For ex: http://www.teachmetoday.info was hosted on blogger.com but this week i converted this domain to WordPress.

Convert Blogger Blog to WordPress

Many webhosting provide 1-click installations i am using byethost they also provide free hosting with no ads and 1-click installion of wordpress. When you install your wordpress then follow steps if you want to convert Blogger blog into WordPress:

Goto Setting and click on import
choose blogger to import your post
follow the instruction and you are done importing

Now you have import you all Blog posts but importing blog doesnt mean that you have converted your Blogger blog to wordpress.Fully converted means that your previous link will redirect to your new wordpress link
Your new wordpress look something like www.xyz.com/?p=1 and your blogger url look something like this http://www.xyz.com/2010/11/post-title.html
You can change your wordpress permalink structure you can do same as your blogger one but both are bad for SEO
For WordPress http://www.xyz.com/category/post-title.html is best Permalink structure to get this one goto Setting -> Permalinks->Custom Structure and type “/egory%/%postname%.html”
Now you have to download permalink redirect pluging from http://scott.yang.id.au/code/permalink-redirect/ install this plugin and activate it .
Now goto Settings -> Permalinks Redirect
You will need to add Old Permalink Structures add this “/%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/“
Now you have completly converted your Blogger blog to WordPress

If, like many bloggers, you started out using a free hosting platform, there may come a time when you want the increased flexibility of a self-hosted paid platform.

The question many bloggers ask is: “Which blogging platform is the right one for my needs?” but the answer may be far from simple.

For a start there will rarely be just the one best platform for you to choose but you will often be confronted with a range of options which could fit the bill.

It may be that you just want to avoid some of the restrictions associated with your previous free blog such as limits over they type of content you can publish or restrictions on placing adverts on the blog.

If that is your only concern then you may not be too fussy about your new platform and your only consideration may be how easy it is to transfer your old blog to the new host.

However if you are going to the trouble of changing blogging platform then you may want to give the matter a little more serious thought because you don’t want to keep changing your blogging host every couple of months. Ideally you want to move from free to paid provider and then stick with that new host for many years to come.

Therefore before you take the plunge and switch providers you may want to ask yourself the following questions:

* What do I want to achieve from my new blog?

* What features do I require that I don’t currently have?

* Do I need a blogging platform that is simple to operate or one which is more complicated but allows me greater flexibility?

* Can I choose different blogging templates to give my blog a certain ‘look and feel’ to fit in with my subject area?

* Do I need the flexibility to create a professional looking unique blog with all the latest bells, whistles and functions?

* Can I integrate my blog with a ‘lead capture’ form to link to my autoresponder?

* Can I add video and custom graphics and, if so, how easy is it to do so?

In fact once you sit down and work out exactly what you want from your blog you will find your own list of questions and you can then come up with a list of ‘must have’ features for your new blogging platform. You might also have another list of options which would be nice to have but which are not essential and knowing what you want will be key to choosing the most suitable platform for your needs.

In the end it will most likely come down to a compromise between flexibility and ease of use and the system you opt for will often be the one that ‘feels right’ for your needs. The last thing you want is to have the most flexible blogging platform known to man but find that it is so complicated that you don’t know how to use it.

For me personally I love the self-hosted version of WordPress because there are so many different templates to choose from, both paid and free, that it is easy to find one to suit your requirements. The flexibility of various plugins to add features and functionality to a WordPress blog is another winner for me yet I know some people who find the whole concept of plugins rather confusing so WordPress might not be for them.

There are even blogs about blogging and these might be a good place to start your internet research to find the ideal blogging platform for you! However don’t let anyone tell you that ‘x’ is the best platform or that ‘y’ is the one for you as what is right for one person may not be right for you at all. A blog is a personal thing and will have to reflect your main needs and requirements, not somebody else’s.

If you use, for example, a lot of pictures in your blogs then you might want a platform that allows you to upload pictures easily and display them as a slideshow or photogallery. You might want to choose one picture from each post as a thumbnail image for the home page and allow some, or all images, to be viewed as high-resolution files.

In making your decision ensure that you have your list of needs and requirements and if the blogging platform meets those then add it to your shortlist and if it does not then cross it off the list.

Just as there is no one perfect cat or dog there is no one perfect blogging platform. Choose one you are comfortable being around and interacting with day in and day out and you will not go far wrong.

Blogger generator is a software tool developed by Joe Tierney who also developed other blackhat SEO tools such as the trackback generator and the blog farm generator.

What does Blogger Generator do?

Blogger generator allows you to build large numbers of blogger blogs on autopilot. This means it can build hundreds of blogger blogs in a few hours plus auto update it with content that you choose.

I have used this tool for quite a while and although it takes a while to get used to the options, after a while, everything becomes simple and you can really appreciate the power it can do. Plus Joe is constantly updating the software so it isn’t those products that never get fixed or updated by the owner.

Blogger Generator comes with a suite of tools. The main tool is of course is the blogger generator program.

All the user have to do is enter some information such as keywords and where to get the content and off it goes to create blogger blogs. The only non automated thing is the CAPCHA value which you must enter manually.

The program is very stable and does not crash easily after even several hours of building thousands of blogs.

The other program bundled is called blogger verifier which requires a catchall domain email address. What it does is it will automatically verify any blogger blog created using various email address which of course does not exist but is forwarded to your catchall email address. This saves you a lot of time in verifying blogger verification emails.

The third program is the article grabber and as it’s name implies, it scrapes articles from ezinearticles according to the keywords you specified earlier. It is simple to use and everything is done automatically.

The fourth program is called Grablinks. What it does is simply grab the sitemap of your blog or website and read all the URLs in it for use in the blog poster pro. This is used more for baclinks to your money site.

Blogger Generator is a great tool if you want to create hundreds if not thousands of blogger blogs in a few hours. Although some blogger blogs will get deleted, the majority of my blogs are still around even after 6 months and it is so easy to create more.
