Theme for blogs Design Aspects of the Best Tumblr Themes

Tumblr has become a powerful tool for companies in reaching new and largely untapped market online. This is in part because of its level of customizability, which allows companies to tailor their Tumblr profiles specifically to their brand’s needs. This, of course, all starts with the Tumblr theme used to essentially represent the company’s brand and image. Larger companies employ the services of professional web designers and developers to create their Tumblr blog’s look, but small and medium-sized businesses that don’t necessarily have a large budget for such services can still create the perfect Tumblog for their business for free. All it takes is some patience, creativity, and a little knowhow.

Here are the basics of Tumblr themes that you should get acquainted with:

Background – The background is basically the canvas on which your content is painted. Some themes allow for background graphics, while others stick to more basic coloring. You can either opt for something subtle or something flashier, but remember to not clutter up your page too much, or it’ll get in the way of the actual content.

Header -Not every Tumblr theme sports a header, but it maybe a good idea to have one, especially if your company has a very distinct and visually appealing logo. Header photos and images are a great way to set the tone and feel for the rest of your blog, so take some time getting the right header on your Tumblr blog.

Columns – These is where the real meat of your content can be found. It’s going to be very important to decide how many columns you’ll want your posts displayed on. One column may leave your page looking too sparse and lacking. Three columns may be too much of an info dump for your visitors. This all depends on your content though, so it’s entirely up to you.

Sidebar Menu – Again, not every theme has a sidebar menu, and not every blog needs a sidebar menu. These are essentially used when your blog visitors need to navigate your blog’s content, so if your company intends on posting about a wide variety of topics, it might be a good idea to have a sidebar menu for navigation. A good theme for blogs will usually have the option for a sidebar.

Footer – The footer is the often forgotten part blogs. People underestimate the usefulness and importance of having a blog’s most important links conveniently collected in an easily accessible place. Important information should also be placed here, like contact details, copyright information and such.

Knowing the basics for blog design is as easy a searching for the free best themes on the Internet. Again, all it takes is some patience, creativity, and a little knowhow.
