Great guide This book does an excellent job of offering the reader the fundamental knowledge of using WordPress.org to create a website with high functionality. Brian Patrick covers everything one would need to know to get their new site up and running without difficulty, using his simple guide.I liked this book because there are no frills and no fluff, it is simple to follow and he offers plenty of information that can be easily utilized. It should be noted that this book is for the .org users and not for the .com users, although some of the information can be used for both platforms. As I am a WordPress blogger I was familiar with much of what was said here, but I did learn a few things that I wasn’t aware of. For those who have never used WordPress, the author walks you through step by step and teaches you how to use the dashboard and basic functions of WordPress for a better experience. The author has included links to hosts, and information about virtually every aspect of using WordPress.I would recommend this book for anyone interested in going this route to build a site. The information is current and valuable.

Great starter information on WordPress I’m a software developer and have written HTML, CSS, PHP, and more, but did not know much about WordPress until I read this relatively short guide which was an easy read. I definitely learned a lot about WordPress and there was no HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, etc. involved. It surprised me what what someone can do using WordPress without knowing any HTML, CSS, PHP, or JavaScript, simply by picking a WordPress theme & plugins and then adding content through WordPress’s dashboard. If you are new to WordPress or just want to learn more about it for possible use later (like me), then this is a very good beginners guide. If you want to start your own website and don’t want to learn any HTML or web programming, then this guide and WordPress seem like an excellent choice. It also suggests where to get your domain name and hosting service, so you can easily go with these recommendations instead of trying to figure out where to get your domain name and hosting service. The author, Brian Patrick, claims to have created over 50 fully operational websites using WordPress, so he knows what he’s talking about. This guide also tells you how you can get a link to 40+ short video tutorials (many under 1 minute long) on using WordPress, and I watched every one.So the bottom line is that this is a good buy for WordPress beginners or for anyone wanting to start a website, especially if they don’t know HTML and don’t want to have to learn it.

Only the essential steps listed; no fluff The author does a great job laying out the framework for getting a website up and running. It was an easy read, and included some helpful resources and video tutorials. At this price point, you can’t really beat the instruction and guidance.Working in the digital media space, this book could be helpful to even intermediate and advanced users looking at a new option for website development
