Misleading Low Ratings People keep giving this product a low rating because they bought it for something this product is unintended for. For those looking to just buy this cable for a easy way to connect tv to pc and be set, this is probably not the cable for you. To break it down easy, it just won’t do what your hoping for. HDMI gives out both a audio and visual signals, the VGA will only do visual (video). So if you pop this in your tv all you’ll have is video and no sound. The intended use of this cable is for VIDEO only. For example I’m using this for my PS3, so I can connect my computer monitor (which doesn’t have a HDMI port) to my PS3(Which has an HDMI port). Monitors are way cheaper than HDTV’s and are more than capable for full 1080p. I get my video signal through that and hook up my audio signal through the composite cables for nice big speakers. As far as the Cable goes, its great! Good length, tight connections, and no problems at all. Just be sure your using this for what it was intended for and you wont have any headaches.

VGA to HDMI is not possible They should have a disclaimer letting you know that VGA to HDMI is not possible simply through a cable. VGA is an analog output, whereas HDMI is a digital output. Without some kind of converter between the two it doesn’t work. So a cable that has VGA on one end and HDMI on the other end will not do what you think it will do.I’m sure there must be some use for this cable, but I don’t know what it is. Don’t buy it if you’re trying to convert VGA signal to HDMI signal.

make sure this is what you need before buying it… Ok, so I’m really not all the tech savvy, so I figured it’d be really easy to just get a cable that runs from my laptop to my pc ready tv… someone told me that all I needed was a VGA to HDMI cable. This is wrong. VGA is an anolog signal plug, whereas HDMI is digital. VGA is also graphic signal only, so your sound will have to come from your computer speakers. You will also have to reset all of the video settings on both your tv and pc to make them agree with each other. If you are not very good at fiddling with these settings, i’d recommend you stick with what you’ve got… or pay the few extra dollars and get a tv conversion box for your pc. That will save many headaches.
