Your Questions About Blog Theme Ideas

George asks…

How do I create a Video-Blog based website?

I’m not an expert programmer or designer… Really I’m just an idealist so to speak.

The site I desire to create is going to have a unique theme to it.

I would like to own a site similar to http://vladtv.com. A site where registered members can have their own sub url (Ex: http://mysitename.com/theirusername) and upload original videos and post blog updates daily based on the concept-idea of the main site.

I’m not trying to do the designing and etcetera myself. What are my options? And where can I find an affordable and reliable host for my site? How much do you think I’m looking at investing on this project?

Blog Design Journal answers:

It costs about $60 /year. My recommended service which supports blog and multimedia is available at:

As you may know a domain name is just a name, not a real website/weblog. If you are going to create your blog website: 1- Buy a domain name. A domain name is a name you want to call your website (ex: www.yahoo.com). To get a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name. 2- Buy a web hosting service to provide your online space and enable you to get your blog online at your purchased domain name.

If you’re going to start your blog-based website at your own domain with different pages, you need a web host providing wordpress.

Take a look at:

There you can reach the three reputable companies that are leaders in the blog/wordpress website hosting industry.

There you can find a step-by-step guide to start your website.

Hope this helps.

David asks…

Where can i find someone in S. florida to do an enchanted forest theme for a wedding?

At a good/fair price? I’m talking the whole show, twinkling lights, winding branches, live birds in (hopefully beautiful) cages, remember i’m on a budget so i don’t want someone who caters to the stars here..but i am willing to spend a few extra bucks for quality.
here are some ideas of what i want:

and this has a whole bunch of pictures!!!

A lot of these things sound like something you could do on your own by being creative with craft stores, but it also sounds like it would be a lot of stress for you. I found a couple of recommended planners on theknot.com but remember that any wedding planner should be able to pull together any kind of theme that you want.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any rates to go on, so you’ll need to go in for a consultation to figure those out. And another idea is to head to Orlando and have your wedding at Disney World. I read on their FAQ that they have done a couple of “enchanted forest” themed weddings.

Good luck!

Donald asks…

Do you know a forum/website to seriously discuss and review books?

I like reading books (novels, nonfiction, etc.) but often I want to talk about a book I have just read. Discuss stuff, reviews, ideas, characters, or look for more books of similar theme. It’s not possible to do this in my friend circle as not many people read books, that too regularly, and then not same as mine. I could write on my blog but that is not what I enjoy. Further, to gather large crowd to blog is not easy, time consuming, and even then mostly one way communication. What I am looking for is something like a forum or website where people gather to talk about books seriously, and rate, review, comment etc. Somewhere where I can find people who like my types of books and we feed on each other to recommend. But I cannot find any such site. Does any one know anything like this?

This problem has bothered me for long since I feel need to talk about fascinating book I read but there is no one around. I can’t believe that such site doesn’t exist in this internet era. Thanks a lot!

Donna asks…

How to implement a Blog into a Website?

Hi, and thanks to anyone that can assist me.

I’m currently working on creating my own gaming website… I won’t go into much detail of specifics though. I would like to have a form of a blog or the ability to post articles on the home page; a good example is http://www.psu.com/ which has daily posts that are shown on the home page.

The reason I like their posts is because there confined to showing the beginning of the article, a thumbnail, publish date, and author instead of showing either the whole post or a large portion of the post as seen in a standard blog (such as http://blog.us.playstation.com/). The other thing that I like is the posts fit right in with the theme of their website.

I currently have no idea of how to get to that (as explained in the following paragraph). My goal is to have something similar to that, with a my own register for the website, and the ability for members to comment once they open the article up. I’m fairly good with HTML and CSS, and I have started using PHP (with MySQL). If you know how I could accomplish this or have any guides, tutorials, websites, videos, books that could help me learn how to get there, then I would really appreciate it. Thank You.
