Your Questions About Blog Theme Ideas

Lizzie asks…

10 points! Ideas for a blog/boutique name?

I’m planning to create a blog to post photos and more info about my fashion turbans. I can’t think of a name for the blog!

Basically, it’s going to include photos of the products with the prices, and sells fashion half-turbans (google them if you have no clue whatsoever about them, loll.)

I’m looking for a name that would catch everyone’s attention and tempts them to buy the product. I have already figured out the description and the color theme, I’m just missing out the name!
P.S. I’m planning to start my mini business in the next few days

THANK YOU GUYS. 10 points for the best answer!

hello to you. it’s been a long time since i’ve posted anything here on the himynameismark site. i haven’t had it in me. these past two months have been the hardest times that i can remember, and i hope that we never see anything like this ever again. first losing our dear friend and longtime producer jerry finn, and then the plane crash that happened in september, taking our friends chris and che. even two months later, i still can’t believe what happened, and it’s too much to talk about. but let me say that i think about little chris every single day, and the world is not the same without him. he is one of the best people i’ve ever known. we travelled the world together, spending countless hours on busses and planes, in hotel lobbies and dressing rooms. we worked together, laughed, and played jokes on people. when i saw him in the studio, no matter if it were with blink-182, +44, or an unknown band i was producing, chris would walk right in, introduce himself, make some jokes, and make sure everyone was taken care of. he made everyone feel at home. like they were family. every person he met was a friend for life, and he could talk to anyone. it didn’t matter if it was the biggest star in the world or someone waiting to get into a show, little chris treated everyone as a friend. he was a dear friend to me. i’m so sad that he is not here right now. there are just no words.

i’m also so thankful that travis and DJ AM made it out of the plane that horrible night. travis is a brother to me, and since the crash he has gone through more than i can even imagine. from the day after the plane went down, when i saw him in the burn unit out in georgia, to the hospital here in LA, to seeing him at home, his recovery is nothing short of amazing. every day gets a little better. and not only is he my brother, but also the best drummer and musician i’ve ever seen. the man was born to play drums, and it is great to see him starting to get back into the studio and behind his kit.

as for me, i have been getting back to work as well. a couple of weeks ago i went into the studio with our lunar activities, to finish up their record. chris holmes and i recorded three more of their songs, and they are in the final mixing stage right now. then last week i went out to new york city to introduce all time low at the 2008 woodie awards for mtvu. the day i got back into town i went right into the studio with my friend richard gibbs, who scores films. he had a rough idea of a song for the movie he is currently working on, and he wanted me to come in and collaborate with him on it. we spent five straight days in the studio and came up with a really fun track for a movie called “fired up,” that comes out next year. it’s good to be singing again, and getting back into it. now this week chris holmes and i are working on a theme song for a tv show. today it passed the first round of approvals, and now it goes up to the big time producer people for their thoughts. hopefully it’ll be seen on a television near you very soon. check local listings.

in the midst of everything else that has happened lately, tom, travis, and i have all spoken together. first through a number of phone calls, and then a couple of weeks ago we all hung out for a few hours. they’ve all been great, very positive conversations. we’re just reconnecting as friends after four years of not talking. it’s a good thing. obviously the first question for a lot of people will be “does this mean a blink-182 reunion?” the answer is none of us know. we haven’t talked about it at all. right now it’s just good for the three of us to see one another, reconnect, and let the past be the past. the events of the past two months supersede everything that happened before. life is too short.

does this mean a blink-182 reunion?

Robert asks…

I’m so confused, I have this terrible urge to exploit myself for money, family gets concerned, plez help!?

I’m a recent college grad with a degree in graphic design whose got a seasonal job in the art department at a theme park. The parks closed from November through April (about 5 months). Over two months, I’ve been job searching–I had interviews, followed up, and no luck yet (and no, I don’t mess up in the interviews). Because of rejection, I have thoughts of suicide, so I’m going back to school part time to better my skills and to pick up another internship program next semester for more relative experience and building more portfolios cause every employer wants that these days. I’m going back to my seasonal job next year since the economy’s bad–my friends say “that’s a premature decision and that I’m very talented and a better opportunity will turn up sooner than I think”–that was rather insulting, so I told them politely to go f**k themselves and to get off the “bong pipe” cause my art work sucks; I hate my work and just don’t know. I got another job on campus modeling for figure drawing classes–I start this Wed according to the prof’s class. Since it’s exposed poses, my family doesn’t exactly have a good opinion. I don’t see what the big deal is–it’s just extra money for the winter; so I won’t put it on my work history. I went after the opportunity so that I won’t starve–although I still live at home, I’d rather not be mooching food off my parents and put burden on their grocery bill. I’m putting in applications at other places such as a cashier and waitress. I’m even starting a paid blog. I don’t get why my family has to make such a bad rap out of my new money earning opportunity on campus; it’s nothing pornographic, these aren’t drunken men, they’re sober art students. They say it’s still degrading and that I did out of desperation which I will regret–that’s a crock of sh*t! I told my parents that I was starving myself to save money. Filing unemployment is a closed option cause I’m not eligible. Although my parents are very supportive and offer me to still live there to save money, I’d rather not freeload off of them, I’m scared of being called a bum, and I’m working my @$$ off here! I was even paying off some of my student loans early. I’m doing whatever I can to put myself out there, to earn money, etc. I sometimes skip my Lexapro medication to save money. After all of what they said, my urge to go out to actually work in a strip joint starts to get bigger, there are more thoughts about it entering the back of my mind. In fact, on my way home from work tonight, I almost stopped at a strip joint to ask for an application–EEK, THIS IS REALLY DISTURBING!! For some reason, I get excited about the idea of exploiting myself for a lot of money, which is messed up! I even came close to smoking to ease my nerves. Am I just going through a phase here? I’m just not sure what to do my life anymore sometimes. I wonder if I’m mentally disturbed??

Blog Design Journal answers:

Hi. I am sorry you are going through a very difficult time. I do not think you will be happy with an “easy” money making opportunity if you think it is “expoiting”. In the end, it is what you feel that matters. Be true to yourself and really think it over. It sounds like your parents are willing to help you. Please, take their help. I am a parent and I would rather help my child help themself than to have them doing things that may be a danger to them. If you don’t want to freeload, you could ask for specific chores you are responsible for. The extra help would be worth as much as anything you could pay them. You mentioned that you are not being consistant with your Lexapro and that there had been a thought of suicide. Please do not skip your medication. Taking an antidepressant the wrong way is more dangerous than a depressed person not taking it at all. If you continue to have suicidal thoughts, please tell your prescribing doctor. Lexapro and other antidepressants have been proven to increase suicidal thoughts in some patients. Do not hesitate to share your feelings with your doctor. If you would like more information on Lexapro…check out webmd.com and type Lexapro in the search column. It could actually be making your situation worse. Also, most communities have suicide prevention or crisis hotlines that you can call. They are free and are completely annonymous unless they feel that you or someone else is in immediate danger.
Please know that everyone goes through rough periods in their lives. It sounds like you are trying hard to turn things around. Please give yourself time and things are bound to get better.
Best wishes to you.

Maria asks…

If my myspace background now shows up as white, was it removed?

i can pick a pre generated myspace theme in it’s editor, however any attempt to put in custom css or a background url just leaves me with a white page. the background url for my blog works fine, and i’ve tried using it for my main page, but to no avail. does anyone have an idea if my background was removed? here was the link to the background image http://fantasyartdesign.com/free-wallpapers/imgs/new/digital-photo-art1.jpg

it contains nudity, but it’s very artistic…so hopefully no one reported it..
I did that, still nothing…

Blog Design Journal answers:
