Promoting Your Blog at Trade Shows and Vice Versa 0
For corporations and small businesses, blogging is (or should be) part of an overall corporate communication and marketing plan. So should trade shows.
Even if your company does not have products and services that you can set up at shows and demonstrate live. trade shows can help promote your business blog, and vice versa. Blogs can promote the show appearances, and trade show displays can send people to blogs.
What you need is a great trade show display, something that is easy to pack and transport, well built, and most of all attractive and classy. Making the content distinctive and effective is up to you, but the display structure or banner itself should be well made and demonstrate quality.
Trade show displays do not have to be expensive. They just need to be good: well thought out and well made.
Make sure your trade show display and blog design harmonize with each other. Using the same logo, colors and typefaces helps with recognition.
Even vinyl banners can have a tremendous impact if they are well designed, well made, and well placed for maximum effect. Even one great banner can be highly effective at minimal cost. Vinyl banners can be used indoors or outdoors, at home as well as on the road, and can pay for themselves many times over in a very short time.
If you have electricity and can set up a computer or two, you can have your blog running in your booth. If your blog is your business, you could even project it onto a screen in the back of your both—or print your header on a vinyl banner.
Generally, though, a company blog is a tool for communicating news and tips to customers (and potential customers) as well as for getting feedback from existing customers. So you want to make sure show visitors go home with your blog URL in their pockets.
You can put the blog URL on vinyl banners (to be snapped with camera phones), print it on business cards (of course), or give out novelty items like memory sticks with your URL printed on them and a shortcut file to your site inside.
Now that you have attracted site visitors with your classy show display, you want to be maximum benefit from each show visitor.
Make sure your blog is well designed, well organized and filled with enticing content so it helps convince the customers the great trade show display or banner attracted for you.
And you are using that blog to promote your company’s presence at trade shows and other events, aren’t you? Of course you are. You’d be crazy not to.
