The Advantages of Using a Blog Platform For Website Publishing 0

Posted on August 26, 2011 by

<P>People and businesses often utilize blogs on their websites, but few understand the potential advantages of using a blog platform for total website management. Blog platforms allow for relatively easy changes through a simple “WYSIWYG” interface that most individuals can learn to use pretty quickly. Other website publishing options require in-depth knowledge of HTML coding, and/or complex web publishing software.</P>
<P>Some think that utilizing blog software for their website means that they will have to become “bloggers” who are constantly updating their sites. This is not true – you can update your site as often as you want to.</P>
<P>An additional objection to using a blog platform is that some individuals don’t want their websites to look like a typical blog. While in the early days of blogs, the software did not allow much in the way of customization, there are now many options for customizing the look of a blog.</P>
<P>For example, many blog themes allow for customized header graphics, variations in text fonts, customization of where navigation and other links appear, and just about any other variations in website layout you could want.</P>
<P>Probably the primary reason to consider using a blog platform for your site is the ease in making changes and updates. You can quickly and easily add content, including text, images, audio, and video. You can also quickly make radical changes in the appearance of your blog by changing just the master settings, as opposed to other types of website management that require you to change each page individually every time you want to update your site.</P>
<P>Blogs also have numerous plugins available that allow you to add advanced functions without needing to know any programming, or needing to hire someone to do the programming for you. For example, some plugins allow for automatic updating of Twitter, Facebook, and other social networking / social bookmarking sites. This has the the advantages of both increasing your exposure and providing your website with valuable backlinks that will enhance your site’s presence on the search engines.</P>
<P>Finally, blogs can be updated online from any computer with internet access. This can be a big advantage for people who want to be able to make frequent updates to their website, yet be able to travel without lugging around a laptop computer all the time, and without worrying about what to do if their computer is broken or otherwise unavailable.</P>
<P>All in all, blog platforms provide easy and convenient website management and can be used to produce attractive websites with great f<br><p><strong>Now Pay Close Attention  –</strong><br /><p>Bringing targeted followers to your twitter account and  turning them in the cash paying customers is a problem of the past.<p><strong>[Reason #1]</strong> You can easily have over 5,000 targeted followers on your  twitter account.<br />  <br />        <strong>[Reason #2] When Using Twitter Follower Supply </strong>obtaining thousands of followers has never been easier.<p>Using  a proven system for acquiring targeted twitter followers Twitter Follower  Supply is able to send thousands of targeted twitter followers to your twitter  account within days! <br /><br />  Just look at this:<br />  – The average twitter follower is worth $1 – $5.<br />  – Twitter traffic now accounts for up to 30% of business traffic.<br />  – Twitter followers are twice as profitable and reliable as  email addresses.<p><br />  <strong>First:</strong> <a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link/4540497']);” href=”<a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link/4540497']);” href=”http://twitterfollowersupply.com/”>Visit” _mce_rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link/4540497']);” href=”http://twitterfollowersupply.com”><strong>Visit”>http://twitterfollowersupply.com”><strong>Visit Twitter Follower Supply Now</strong></a><br />  Thousands  of Targeted Twitter Followers Guaranteed<br />  <br />              <strong>Second: Buy Twitter Followers</strong><br />  Guaranteed  Targeted Followers That Visit Your Website and Spend Money!

Your Questions About Blog Design WordPress Theme 0

Posted on May 14, 2011 by Blog Design Journal

James asks…

Editing a WordPress theme I downloaded……?

I am in the process of starting my own blog. I want to use the theme from, “http://www.wpthemedesigner.com/2009/06/28/emperors-theme“. I would love to make small changes to the layout. I have listed the changes I want below.

1. Underneath the featured news section there is a 2 column posts section. For the 2 column I would like for them to appear similar to the 2 column posts section under RECENT on “http://www.woothemes.com/demo/?t=28″.

2. Under the Sponsors section I would like to add 2 more boxes for additional sponsors.

3. Popular Post section, I want to have buttons that I design that leads to my twitter, myspace, and facebook.

4. Flickr photos, I want this section to be a place for a 300×250 ad.

5. Featured video, I want this section to be a place for a 300×250 ad also.

Can someone please tell me how difficult these changes can be?

Chris asks…

How can I display my wordpress posts on my existing website?

I would like to use my current website design to show my wordpress posts.

I would have link in my navigation that would say “Blog” and clicking that would show a page containing my posts. And my blog page would have the same design (color, branding, layout) as the other pages just longer (due to posts)… Ive used wordpress themes before, but I would like to just “insert” the posts on to an existing design.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks in advance.

Blog Design Journal answers:

You can use the feed of your blog to display the posts on your websites.

You can build your own custom feed reader to display that feed on your web page using the google ajax feed reader

George asks…

Calling all WordPress people!?

Hi can someone who is familiar with WordPress pls help me out with this!

I know that wordpress was initially made for blogging, but I’m not interested in that at this stage. I am a beginner and all I want to do is to get a 3 page static html website up live. Here’s what I have done so far:

Got my hosting server (godaddy)
Downloaded wordpress.
Created a MySQL database on the host server and connected wordpress to it.
Designed a simple web page on Fireworks.
Converted said design to HTML with an attached Stylesheet. (called index.html & style.css)
Typed in the comment on the stylesheet so that wordpress knows its a theme.

This is where I am stuck. Can anyone recommend a good tutorial or tell me what I should do next – I notice that the default theme has lots of php files. Do I need them if my site will have no blog and will just be static html pages? I am new to php so only know what it stands for.

I’m doing a static html site first just to get my head round wordpress.

Thanks guys!

Get Paid at SocialSpark 0

Posted on December 17, 2008 by Kathleen

I just signed up at a new site for blog advertising, social networking and getting paid to post: SocialSpark. Register your blogs there and let advertisers find you.

Meanwhile you can make friends, who can vote your blog up or down in the rankings. You can also add applications to your profile page, just as you can on Facebook. (There are already hundreds.)

You also get a set of tools for tracking traffic and other stats on your blog. To install the tools, so you can view the stats on your SocialSpark dashboard, you paste a code snippet into the theme code of your blog (not into a widget). But you have to add code anyway to claim your blog.

The service is still in beta testing, according to the site. But registration is open now, and there are already over 1000 blogs listed.

To get ads from SocialSpark, your blog must be over 90 days old and have at least 20 posts. So what are you waiting for?
